Dear –FNAME–,
We are very excited to welcome several new businesses to Downtown Nashua! In case you missed it, weâve been providing a little fanfare for their arrival through our blogs and on social media. Please join us in giving a warm welcome, and consider checking out these great new spotspots for dining, entertainment, and a little self care! We are so encouraged by these businesses that are opening up, and ready to be a part of our vibrant Downtown, and grateful that they have chosen to get their start here!
–Nightmare Escapes has put together a Spooktacular escape/puzzle room experience at 100 Main Street
We also want to congratulate businesses who have made a move, or got their start within the year before, or just as the pandemic began to unfold, for their perseverance â and give a shout out to: –Glorious Possibilities at 100 Main Street
We are so hopeful, and proud for all of our neighbors who have endured as weâve just passed the one year anniversary of COVIDâs arrival here in NH. You are all doing such an amazing job, and we know it hasnât been easy â but we are just so glad that you’ve persevered in your own way. Keep it up! Before you know it, it will be full steam ahead once again.
Wishing you a great week!

Our photo of the week really intrigued us! As Imagine Nashua invites all of us to offer big-sky dreaming for the future of our city, one suggestion posted was “ziplining at Mine Falls.” During a discussion on the Nashua Past, Present & Future Facebook page, Den Levesque shared this incredible photo and piece of history:
As recently as 1908, folks used “an aerial trolley” â basically the precursor to ziplines â to cross the Nashua river at the Cotton Mill. They built the existing Cotton Mill Transfer Bridge on this site in 1910. Can you imagine doing this back in the day â in turn of the century attire?! Wow!
Great American Downtown is continuing our research into a second free walkable art tour, this time along the river (right near the Cotton Mill bridge), to roll out this summer, and then a Nashua history tour. What would you like to see? Let us know!

WineNot Boutique
celebrates 11 years in Nashua
next weekend!
WineNot Boutique, at 122 Main Street, invites you to share their excitement as they celebrate 11 years in Downtown Nashua, with three nights of tasting events at the store!
These wine tastings are FREE,
but please register by clicking below for social distancing planning.
5â7 pm Thursday: Old World Wines
As wine drinkers, it is romantic to realize the Old World wine in our glass has been made the same way for centuries. When someone uses the term Old World they are referring to wines made in countries that are considered the birthplaces of wine â France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Austria, Greece, Lebanon, Israel, Croatia, Georgia, Romania, Hungary and Switzerland.
WineNot Boutique is pleased to host husband and wife duo Jeanine Hanson from Taub Family Selections and Dennis Hanson from Fortius Brands. Jeanine and Dennis will be pouring 6 gorgeous wines from Germany, Italy, France, and Spain, including a Grand Cru Riesling from Alsace! REGISTER HERE
1â5 pm Friday: New World Wines and a special double magnum!
Special Guest: Michael Boland of Uncorked New England
Wines and the winemakers in the New World embody the entrepreneurial spirit you would expect from descendants of immigrants that struck out searching for a new and better life in another place. In these regions the winemaking practices vary dramatically, and there is much experimentation.
The New World generally places less emphasis on making wine the same way it has been made for centuries, and more emphasis on making wine that takes advantage of modern advances.
If you enjoy the bolder style of New World regions like California, South Africa and Australia, this tasting event is for you! This tasting will include new wine from Oak Farm Vineyards, producer of our best selling wines of 2020!
Svetlana will open a Double Magnum of Mount Veeder Winery 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon ($275 value) as celebratory ‘bonus’ wines! REGISTER HERE
1â5 pm Saturday: The official Anniversary Party!
We have come a very long way in 11 years thanks, in no small part, to you our WineNot Family! From humble beginnings to becoming a destination for wine, wine education, travel, weekly tastings and special events, we are grateful for the love and support we have been shown. All month long, we will celebrate our 11th anniversary with special surprises and events – please join us!
Courtney Mosher from Crush Distributors will join the WineNot team for a day filled with great wine, noshies from Chef Ann, and fun! Courtney will bring Carol Shelton’s delicious Wild Thing Chardonnay and Oakville Winery Zinfandel by Ghost Block Estate Wines as well as other exceptional bottles!
Svetlana will open a Double Magnum of Mount Veeder Winery 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon ($275 value) and Bodegas Alto Moncayo ‘Aquilon’ 2011 Garnacha ($135) to pour on Saturday as celebratory ‘bonus’ wines! REGISTER HERE

Small Business & Community Resiliency Academy
|
|
|
|
|
COVID19 is not the first, and it wonât be the last thing to have major impacts on businesses, and our broader economy and community â and it wonât be the last. Great American Downtown is excited to be partnering with the NHSBDC on the upcoming Resiliency Academy, which will help businesses and organizations become more prepared to weather unforeseen events, and to not only survive but thrive through moments of adversity. We hope youâll join us!
The Small Business & Community Resiliency Academy starts April 7th!
2020 reminded us that every business regardless of size, industry, or stage of growth needs a resiliency plan.
Pandemics and natural disasters are not the only reason to have a resiliency plan.
What does resilience mean to your business? Are you set up to easily adapt and respond to business disruptions? What if a key team member on your team leaves or is fired? What if you experience a cyber-attack and you need to communicate about it with your customers? What if a supplier has a disruption? Would it affect your business? The answer is yes!
Business resilience is directly linked to the survival of a business and should be integrated with its long-term sustainability plans.
Registration closes March 26th. Save your spot today!
Academy Schedule:
Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. â 11:00 a.m.
April 7, April 21, May 5, May 19 & June 2
The Academy features expert speakers, small business panels, and a workbook to follow to help you build out your resiliency plan. Businesses that register for the Academy will have access to regional cohorts, led by SBDC business advisors, to help participants delve deeper into the resiliency planning process. Some NH small business panelists include Laney & Lu, Dancing Lion Chocolate, and Gibson’s Bookstore, with many more to be announced!
