Photo of the Week

Our photo of the week comes to us from Pam Anderson. With all the rain we’ve had lately, Jackson Falls is running more robustly than ever!
You can sit and enjoy the view of the falls from Margaritas. And remember to purchase your “contestant duck” from Rotary Club of Nashua West for the upcoming Duck Derby annual fundraiser next month. They’ll head toward the falls, raising money for community programs along the way! You can get ducks via the link above, or in-person at our Farmers Market every Sunday!

Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.

FINAL WEEKEND: CHARITABLE GAMING FOR PAC

Have fun, help support
the Nashua Performing Arts Center
The Lucky Moose, 16 Gusabel Ave. in the Nashua Mall, exit 6 (in the former Bugaboo Creek restaurant location) is a new and exciting spot to try your luck and help local nonprofits at the same time.
All this weekend, 11 am–11 pm, your fun night out will include a charitable gaming donation to the upcoming Nashua Performing Arts Center, being built right now on the corner of Main and W. Pearl streets.
James Rafferty, General Manager of the Lucky Moose, cordially invites you to join his staff for a guaranteed exciting evening of casino games: Roulette, Blackjack, NH Holdʼem (their take on Mississippi Stud) and NH 21 (think Spanish 21, only better). They’re also proud of their large tavern menu – award-winning chicken tenders, pizza, burgers, steak and more – and beverages.
35% of gaming proceeds every day goes to a local charity. In their 14 years in business, the Lucky Moose has raised over $4 million for 111 charities.
Why not stop by and check out Nashua’s newest gaming site?

ALL WEEK: LIBRARY INVITES YOU TO FOCUS GROUP

Have Nashua Public Library
better serve the community
with your feedback!
The Nashua Public Library has been busy dreaming of the future – and they want to hear from you!
The library is currently engaged in a strategic planning process to guide its work over the next three years. They’re spending time listening to our community to learn more about the needs and aspirations of individuals and of community groups.
They especially want to hear from people who don’t use the library!
As part of this process, the library is holding a series of one-hour focus group sessions (in-person and virtual) during the week of September 13, and hope you will consider attending one to give feedback.
If you register for a virtual session, you will receive the Zoom link a few days before your session. If you are unable to attend a session, but would like to provide additional input into the strategic planning process, please contact Amanda Standerfer at [email protected].

OUR SECOND WALKING ART TOUR IS READY!

Great American Downtown
presents another free walking art tour
There’s so much wonderful art in Nashua, there’s always something new to discover! That’s why we’ve created another art tour for you to enjoy!
Our FREE downloadable app allows you to take a self-guided walk at your own pace, starting anywhere in Downtown Nashua. Art Walk II technically “begins” on Water Street, exploring the patriotic and historic murals there and in Renaissance Park. Then we examine the sculptures on both sides of the Nashua River, working our way up Main Street and exploring more than a dozen works in paint and stone, several surrounding the Nashua Public Library, and culminating with the trio of additions from our recent 2021 Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, near the Court Street Theatre.
The DISTRX app is FREE to download onto any smartphone, and will guide you along an easy route through Downtown Nashua and surrounding areas. As you approach a mural or sculpture, the app will give you an audio description of the work, its artist, and facts about its creation. Information and photos on your phone will enable further future exploration on your own.
Read more about our art tours HERE; the first is ready to also experience in Spanish, with the second’s translation in process.

While you are there, you’ll get to see this amazing mural being painted right now by Beyond Walls as it comes together – right behind Clocktower Place! We can’t wait to see the final product, and add it as a stop along the tour.
