Our photo of the week was captured by Great American Downtown board member, Representative Latha Mangipudi, and features volunteers from the SEWA International Boston service group chatting up a Tree Streets resident over the weekend, who expressed gratitude to the group for their role in beautifying their neighborhood! Thanks to the volunteer group for coming out on Sunday to do trail clean up, and complete an expanded garden beds project at our Gate City Community Gardens site!
Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.

Since 2016, families, friends and neighbors have gathered to dance the warm summer night away, through the city of Nashuaâs Dancinâ events.
This summer, the City of Nashua, in partnership with Great American Downtown are planning for two events, in August and September. The event series, Dancinâ In The Park, will take place along the Nashua Riverfront in Renaissance Park. Join us outside by the river, for hot music and cold ice cream (available for purchase from Hazy Ice Cream truck). First, enjoy a dance lesson with instructor Theo Martinez, who will teach us Latin dance styles. Then, our guest musicians will heat up the night with two 45-minute sets:
Aug. 14: Latin
Beantown Social Club
Friday from 6:30â10 pm
at Renaissance Park on Water Street, in Downtown Nashua.
SEPTEMBER EVENT TBA
These events are free but ticketed, to limit the number of people in attendance to 150, to ensure enough room to allow for participants to maintain physical distancing. Mask wearing will be required of all those in attendance, aside from performers. This event, and the event health and safety plan have been developed in partnership with the Nashua Dept. of Public Health to ensure proper measures are in place for a healthy, safe, and fun night of music and dance! Please be aware that we continue to monitor the conditions of COVID-19 spread in Nashua and NH, and in the event that conditions change this event may be cancelled at the recommendation of Public Health.

Interviewees wanted!
Greater Nashua Food Council is seeking community members to interview (remotely or in person) to hear their experiences with local community services. GNFC is offering a chance to win one of four $50 Visa gift cards to interviewees.
The GNFC focus is food, but services to be discussed can also include healthcare, education, transportation, housing, etc.
The purpose of these interviews is to help understand how services are being communicated and accessed in our community, as part of a larger effort to understand what barriers people face to getting services and what can be done to alleviate those issues.
They are looking for 50 participants over the age of 18 that are residents of Greater Nashua. Interviews will take 30â60 minutes and will be conducted over the phone, on a virtual platform like Zoom or Google, or socially distanced in person, as appropriate. Interviews can be conducted in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Cantonese as needed.
All responses will be confidential and will be combined with others, to be used as a collective only. A summary report will be written and shared with the community to help improve these services. This report will make no mention of names.
Please sign up below for an interview slot. Thank you for helping!

Music Therapy at the Nashua Community Music School
Music Therapy is a research-based practice that uses music to work towards non-musical goals. Music Therapy participants will not be focused on learning how to play music, instead they will focus on using music as a tool to improve emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral, and physical skills. âââââââ
Music Therapy is beneficial for children and adults diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities, older adults experiencing memory loss, and kids, teens, and adults with emotional disorders. Music Therapy can also be beneficial for individuals who need help expressing themselves and might like to use music as an expressive outlet.
You can also email Tori Caruso, the school’s Music Therapy Director, at [email protected] to set up a FREE consultation today, or call the school at (603) 881-7030.
