August is NH Eat Local Month!

This week we shine a spotlight on:

The Waite family welcomes you to visit Averill House Vineyard, in a historic and restored 1830s barn located in Brookline, New Hampshire.
Their wine grapes are sourced locally and grown on-premise, to create a variety of wine offerings – even wine slushies and wine ice cream! There are wine-related snacks and merchandise.
The vineyard also offers tastings, tours and events. Events include yoga and barre classes, craft workshops, live comedy and music, murder mystery dinners, and other types of entertainers (August features a ventriloquist).

Manchester-based DJ’s Pure Natural Honey loves to showcase their bees and the fabulous honey and wax they produce. If you’ve never eaten a honey comb before, you absolutely should! It’s delicious and nutritious. Other bee products include candy (solid and liquid “stix”), skin cream and lip balm, fire starters, and of course, honey! DJ’s offers many delicious variations, including habanero- or cinnamon-infused, seasonal flavors, creamed honey and jars with combs inside.
