August is NH Eat Local Month!

Great American Downtown encourages you to find as many ways as you can of supporting our local food growers and purveyors. Here are some of our favorites:

The community garden is a fenced-in area beside the Nashua Heritage Rail Trail, bringing beauty and value to a previously unsightly area. The project added a “Mutt Mitt” station and garbage can, to keep the area much more appealing now.

The garden features two dozen 4×8, ADA-compliant raised beds, each with a water spigot for easy watering. There are raspberry plants for public picking, and a small children’s garden to tend and harvest. There is also a “free vegetable” bin, so gardeners can share their bumper crops with the community.

Outdoor dining Downtown!

Our friends in the restaurants, bars and pubs downtown welcome you to join them in a safe and spirited environment, as they move some of their tables outside!

The city has limited our usual four lanes of Main Street to one vehicular-traffic lane each way, enabling our local restaurants to safely utilize outdoor space for serving their customers. Many have gone out of their way to beautify their locations, and look forward to welcoming you.

Please respect our hard-working service industry professionals and their health by wearing a mask to visit these establishments, and observe all requested protocols for social distancing. Thank you!
