Our photo of the week was shared by the Nashua Silver Knights, as they close out their season. They wrote:
“ The Silver Knights would like to thank our 2021 host families. We are able to have talented players from across the country due to the generosity of local families opening up their homes. Thank you!
If youâre interested in learning more about becoming a host family for future Silver Knights, please visit our website.”
Congratulations to the whole team, and thank you for bringing some good old fashioned baseball and family fun to Historic Holman Stadium again this summer!

FEATURED WEEKEND EVENT II: GREELEY PARK ART SHOW!
|
|
|
|
|
68th annual Greeley Park Art Show
10 am â 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21, 22
A yearly tradition for more than 60 years!
Every August, the Nashua Area Artistsâ Association hosts this time-honored tradition for artists and visitors alike. More than 50 artists from all over New England come to this landmark Downtown Nashua park and set up their artist stand/booth, to display their work to thousands of visitors over the two-day event at Greeley Park, 100 Concord St.
During the month of August, Greeley Park in Nashua hosts artist booths and two art competitions â one for adults and the other for ages 6â18. The raffle and silent auction help fund two scholarships for local high school students. There are also special events including a coloring tent, instrument petting zoo and other programs that allow kids to have a memorable time being creative, learning and expressing their own creativity.
This art show originated more than six decades ago, and has grown and flourished throughout that time. Come down to the park this weekend and experience the wide variety of artistic endeavors, the breadth of talent, and the fun for kids and adults alike. Maybe you’ll discover a piece of art that needs to come home with you â or even a new passion for yourself!

We had a yummy time learning all about the science and showmanship surrounding ice cream freshly made with the help of liquid nitrogen. Our new downtown neighbors Mark and Rita McCabe, owners of Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream, sat down with us last week and explained the process, all the delicious ways you can experience them â weddings and catering and mitzvahs, oh my! â at their new location at the corner of Main and Water streets.
Read more about their business in OUR BLOG below; and if you work up a sweat dancing with us this Friday at Renaissance Park, Sub Zero is within eyesight of our event, and open until 9:30 pm!

FINAL WEEK OF NH EATS LOCAL MONTH!
|
|
|
|
|
Eat local, support local!
August is NH Eats Local Month
Each week in August, there’s a new way to support our local food purveyors, during the NH Eats Local initiative. This week, it’s dine out, dine local. Next week, you get to choose how to show your eat-local pride!
WEEK 4, AUG 22â28 : SHOWING YOUR LOCAL LOVE
Letâs get creative! We know eating local means something different to everyone. The final weekâs photo contest is open ended, so everyone can share a photo of what eating local means to them.
Snap a photo and share your experience dining out at a New Hampshire restaurant. Post photos on social media with the hashtag #NHEatsLocal to not only show support, but to possibly win a great prize!
Let’s be sure to show our local farmers and restaurants
that we appreciate them this month,
especially in these difficult times.

Take their online survey
on how they can better serve you and your family!
How can the Nashua Public Library better serve you?
The Nashua Public Library is conducting a survey to learn more about your library experience. As part of our long-range planning process, we would like to know what you value about the library’s collections, services, programs, and spaces and what you would like to see in the future.
Even if you do not have a library card or have not visited the library in the last two years, your responses are important for future planning purposes.
If you have used the library in the past two years (in-person or virtually), please think about your experiences with our services, programs, and staff when responding to this survey.
Itâs available in English and Spanish HERE. A teen survey is also posted on that page. THANK YOU!

OUR SECOND WALKING ART TOUR IS READY!
|
|
|
|
|
presents another free walking art tour
There’s so much wonderful art in Nashua, there’s always something new to discover! That’s why we’ve created another art tour for you to enjoy!
Our FREE downloadable app allows you to take a self-guided walk at your own pace, starting anywhere in Downtown Nashua. Art Walk II technically “begins” on Water Street, exploring the patriotic and historic murals there and in Renaissance Park. Then we examine the sculptures on both sides of the Nashua River, working our way up Main Street and exploring more than a dozen works in paint and stone, several surrounding the Nashua Public Library, and culminating with the trio of additions from our recent 2021 Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, near the Court Street Theatre.
The DISTRX app is FREE to download onto any smartphone, and will guide you along an easy route through Downtown Nashua and surrounding areas. As you approach a mural or sculpture, the app will give you an audio description of the work, its artist, and facts about its creation. Information and photos on your phone will enable further future exploration on your own.
Read more about our art tours HERE; the first is ready to also experience in Spanish, with the second’s translation in process.
While you are there, you’ll get to see this amazing mural being painted right now by Beyond Walls as it comes together – right behind Clocktower Place! We can’t wait to see the final product, and add it as a stop along the tour.

Oasis Springs Farm is an urban hydroponic farm located in Nashua. Celebrating their fifth anniversary this month, owners Sarah and Chris Ward have expanded to growing their produce in three shipping container “farms” (equivalent to 4.5 acres) that produce year-round lettuce, kale, herbs and microgreens.
If you’ve never seen a shipping container decked out with grow lights and temperature controls, with the produce growing vertically on the walls, it’s pretty neat! (And how good must that wall of basil smell?!)
What they currently grow:
- Lettuce: Butterhead, Romaine, Bibb, Mixed Greens Blend
- Greens: Kale, Swiss Chard, Spinach Chard
- Herbs: Oregano, Dill, Mint, Parsley, Red Veined Sorrel, Thyme

Have fun, help support
the Nashua Performing Arts Center
The Lucky Moose, 16 Gusabel Ave. in the Nashua Mall, exit 6 (in the former Bugaboo Creek restaurant location) is a new and exciting spot to try your luck and help local nonprofits at the same time.
Next Wednesday, Aug. 25, through Aug. 31, your fun night out will include a charitable gaming donation to the upcoming Nashua Performing Arts Center, being built right now on the corner of Main and W. Pearl streets.
James Rafferty, General Manager of the Lucky Moose, cordially invites you to join his staff for a guaranteed exciting evening of casino games: Roulette, Blackjack, NH Holdʼem (their take on Mississippi Stud) and NH 21 (think Spanish 21, only better). They’re also proud of their large tavern menu â award-winning chicken tenders, pizza, burgers, steak and more â and beverages.
35% of gaming proceeds every day goes to a local charity. In their 14 years in business, the Lucky Moose has raised over $4 million for 111 charities.
Why not stop by and check out Nashua’s newest gaming site?
