HALLOWEEN IS FULL OF TREATS, NOT TRICKS!

Nashua trick-or-treating is happening!
6–8 pm Saturday, Oct. 31
Some good news: the City of Nashua has decided to hold normal trick-or-treat hours this year! Let’s all keep the fun safe with social distancing, careful treat gathering and awareness of traffic.
And remember, you can always send your Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to Great American Downtown, care of newsletter gal Kathleen Palmer!
Read our blog, below, for all the details!

TRICK OR TREAT!

BE A VOLUNTEER TUTOR FOR NASHUA’S KIDS!

Help kids not fall behind in these difficult times
United Way of Greater Nashua is looking for volunteer tutors to work with Nashua school children in grades 1 to 11 in Math or Literacy for all grades, or Science for grades 9 to 11.
This program has been created to help Nashua students who are experiencing an increased lack of success due to our current Covid-19 remote education model.
Volunteers should have some experience with teaching, tutoring, or helping educate others in another way.
Tutoring will take place primarily during after school hours and may be virtual or in person depending on the needs of the student. Volunteers are expected to be available for two to three hours per week, for the duration of the 2020-21 academic year; tutors will be expected to pass a background check. Volunteers will usually be working with one student at a time, but may be assigned to small groups if there is a group of students who needs help in the same subject.
Interested volunteers should register below:

VETERANS DAY PARADE POSTPONED FOR 2020

City of Nashua’s Veterans Day parade
will return next year
With continuing concerns about large gatherings, along with the unavailability of our wonderful school bands, November’s parade will be cancelled this year.
That would never cancel our respect and appreciation for our veterans, however. Several organizations will be laying wreaths and setting flags at sites around Nashua, in honor of those who serve and the fallen we remember always.

HAVE A GLASS (or two!) AT WINE CLASS

WineNot hosts taste-and-learn event:
‘Wines of the Loire Valley and Bordeaux Regions’
6–8 pm Wednesday, Oct. 21
You’ll never go wrong when you decide to join Svetlana Yanushkevich at her WineNot Boutique, 221 Main Street. Her tasting events are not only educational for wine lovers – experienced or novices – but they’re buoyant and fun, too! And who can’t use a little more of those “spirits” these days?
Svetlana welcomes guest Chris Ferraro from Barton & Guestier Wine Co., to explore the world of wines from Loire Valley and Bordeaux wine regions of France. In this tasting class you will enjoy tasting 6 wines, plus artisan cheeses, dried fruit, and chocolate.
The event will be carefully moderated for social distancing and safety protocols. Save your seat today! These events always fill up, and more so now with social distancing in the shop.
