Photo of the Week

Our photo of the week was submitted by Dorothy Perrucci, and features La Dame de Notre Renaissance, along the Nashua River at Water Street. Dorothy writes: “Lilacs and other flowers are blooming in the Le Parc de Notre Renaissance Francaise, also known as Renaissance Park or the French Park. There’s newly planted flowers by the park’s centerpiece, La Dame de Notre Renaissance Francaise (The Lady of Our French Renaissance). The sculpture depicts an 1870s millworker and her young son who is holding a French text. It was the first full figure erected in Nashua in a century and the first in New England to recognize and honor Franco-American culture by recognizing women and children who worked in the mills during the first half of the 20th century. The sculpture was privately funded by the Franco-American community and created by sculptor Christopher R. Gowell.”
Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.

Food drive
Saturday, June 6
9 am – 2 pm
United Way of Greater Nashua continues their tireless work in helping their community during this pandemic. Their initiatives have aided our businesses and individuals in moving forward.
This Saturday, United Way will hold a food drive to help those in need in our community. Their last drive brought in more than 5,500 non-perishable items for the food pantries and animal shelters of Greater Nashua. This time, with nearly two dozen participating stores, they’re hoping for more!
Helping a dozen local food pantries and animal shelters, this drive seeks the above wish-list items. Could you stop by one of the stores listed on Saturday, and purchase something to donate?
They will also be distributing face masks at each location, and are currently seeking donations of DIY face masks from anybody in the community who would like to contribute. Email [email protected] if you can help!

NH Free Fishing Day!
Saturday, June 6

It happens only twice a year! It’s time for the summertime Free Fishing Day in the Granite State! New Hampshire Fish & Game Department invites you and your family to experience the fun and beauty of the outdoors this Saturday!

Free Fishing Day Rules:
State residents and nonresidents alike can fish any inland water or saltwater in New Hampshire that day without a fishing license.
Note that season dates, bag limits and all other fishing regulations must be followed on Free Fishing Day.

Persons participating in a fishing tournament must still hold a license, even on free fishing day.

For details on fishing rules, consult the New Hampshire Freshwater Fishing Digest.
Read more fishing information â€“ stocking reports, tackle tips, access sites, lake depths and fishing reports from across the state. And check out our regional fishing brochures, with suggestions on where to fish from the shoreline, currently available for Manchester/Nashua, the North Country, southwestern New Hampshire, the Lakes Region, and the seacoast.

If you get hooked on Free Fishing Day, enjoy the fun year round. Licenses are available online or from any of 250 friendly local license agents statewide. Youth younger than age 16 do not need a license to fish in New Hampshire.
Keep up to date on their Facebook page.

Banyan Tree Yoga
Chakra Flow yoga
Tuesdays, 5:30–6:30 pm
Offered as virtual or in-studio classes! Some define chakras as the seven major energy centers in the body, through which energy flows. Blocked energy in our chakras is said lead to illness and dis-ease.
In this 8-week series, Banyan Tree Yoga will guide you through a series of asanas (yoga postures) specific to the different chakras each week. In studio, they will incorporate aromatherapy in the form of essential oils which correspond to balancing these energy centers.
Progress through the series from foundational postures through more challenging postures. New students, please start within the first few weeks of the series. It is not recommended to start Chakra Flow during weeks 6 or 7.
One-time class rates are $10 virtual, $17 in-studio. See other options here.
