Photo of the Week

Our photo of the week was submitted by Downtowner Dorothy Perrucci, and depicts a bust on Main Street sporting a mask. When you’re in a fixed position on a busy sidewalk, physical distancing is not possible – and it appears he has embraced guidelines from public health.
Dorothy writes “The artwork is a bronze sculpture of former Nashua resident, Lawrence C. Elliott. It’s dressed in a suit coat, tie, and dress shirt, with a pair of eye glasses, and is placed on top of a square brick base. The sculptor was Patricia Verani, a NH native. The sculpture is listed on a Smithsonian website which listed the subject as ‘a businessman and philanthropist.’ “
Our neighbors in the Nashua, Past Present and Future Facebook page recount “Larry” as the owner of Nashua Beef, a philanthropist of high regard, and a great supporter of youth sports in the city.

You can check out more of Dorothy’s photos and musings at her blog, The Frog and Penguin.
Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.
