Photo of the Week

Our photo of the week was taken by the illustrious Kathleen Palmer, from her new office at City Hall. It shows St. Patrick’s Church alight with the setting sun on Christmas Eve. It lasted only minutes, but it was quite vibrant!

Kathleen, has been our Marketing Coordinator here at Great American Downtown for the past two and a half years, and is well known for her time at the Nashua Telegraph as the editor of Encore. She has bid us adieu as she takes on her new role in the office of Mayor Jim Donchess as Communications and Special Projects Coordinator. Kath has been a valuable part of the team here, and we are sad to see her go – but glad that it isn’t too far away! Please join us in wishing her all the best!

Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.

SYMPHONY NH POSTPONES PERFORMANCES

Bond, Brahms concerts
will be rescheduled
Due to health and safety concerns, the Board of Trustees of Symphony NH has made the difficult decision to postpone its two upcoming concerts.
Both the December 30, 2021 James Bond Concert in Nashua, and the January 29, 2022 Brahms Concert, also in Nashua, are postponed and WILL NOT BE PERFORMED ON THEIR ORIGINAL DATES.
Symphony NH states “We are saddened to postpone these events, but the health of our patrons, musicians and staff is of utmost concern.
“We thank you for your understanding and continued support, and look forward to seeing you in spring 2022 as our season continues.”

TEMPORARY MASK ORDINANCE IN EFFECT TIL JAN. 31

noting temporary mask ordinance

From Dept. of Health:
“Once again, we are asking for your invaluable help to combat this COVID-19 pandemic. First, I would like to recognize and thank you for all that you have done over this long, long battle. It has not gone unnoticed. Without your help over the last two years, I believe the situation would certainly be worse.
I have to report to you that the Nashua and NH numbers have increased greatly (25%) from our Thanksgiving celebrations. We have two more holidays fast approaching, along with the fact that people having moved indoors for the season, and the presence of a new contagious variant sweeping across our country that we know little about. We have been told to prepare for a “viral blizzard.” We ask that you once again assist us in keeping our fellow citizens safe. On December 21, 2021, the City of Nashua Board of Alderman voted to accept Ordinance O-21-083 proposed by the Nashua Board of Health. The ordinance reinstates a citywide mask mandate effective immediately through January 31, 2022.
We recognize what a vital role business owners play in keeping people safe. We ask that you display the enclosed mask posters and remind people to â€œMask Up” to help reduce the spread of the virus. We are all in this together to help “bend the curve” of infection and reduce the high demand on hospital beds, which are at full capacity currently.
I know this has been hard, especially for you on the front lines. As my father used to say, “Most times doing the right thing isn’t always the easy thing.” If you have any questions or concerns, please call. We are here to help. Thank you again from a grateful Public Health Department, the Board of Health, Board of Aldermen and from grateful Citizens of Nashua.
Best wishes to you and your families for a joyous holiday season and my New Year’s wish to us all is to get back to normal.
Sincerely,
Anthony M. Storace, DMD, MAGD Chair, Nashua Board of Health”
