| Giving Tuesday to benefit Gate City Community Gardens This #GivingTuesday, we’re raising money for Great American Downtown â your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. And today, on Giving Tuesday, Nov, 30, Meta will match $8 million in qualifying donations. Thank you for your support! A little more on what your donation will support: For the last two garden seasons, we have decided to waive all gardener participation fees (formerly $35/yr) for our Gate City Community Gardens, and we have been able to do this with your support. We’ve also grown the total number of beds at the garden to 32, and replaced the original garden beds that were installed in 2013 with long lasting, metal, raised beds that will serve the neighborhood for many years to come. This has been made possible with support from volunteer groups from BAE, Rivier, Bishop Geuertin, Nashua PAL, Grow Nashua and others, as well as by small donations. The garden does have overhead costs â water, soil amendments, occasional needed repairs, and the help of an experienced permaculture professional who is on site for two hours each week to support gardeners, and help everyone put their best green thumb forward.
