Dear –FNAME–,
As Nashua, and NH look to better days ahead, we are pleased to bring you news about progress from the City of Nashua, and the State of NH. We’ll continue to keep you up to date in the coming weeks and months, as local businesses and organizations begin to “flex open” as we meet a balance of health and safety, and the restoration of activity and the recovery for NH’s small business driven economy unfolds.
This Friday the City of Nashua conducted their weekly live press conference, and covered the many facets of Nashua’s response, including expanded testing and tracing capacity. You can check out that recording here.
The Governor also held a press conference this afternoon on what the State of NH is calling Stay at Home 2.0. You can find the relative press release here, and learn about the updated changing practices as NH works toward a phased reopening of facilities and businesses throughout the state. Most notably Barbers, Salons, and retail shops will be permitted to open on May 11th, with reduced occupancy guidelines, and with other safety measures in place. Restaurants will have the ability to open for outdoor dining, with safety measures in place, starting on May 18th. With Stay at Home 2.0, caution and care are still warranted. Social distancing, wearing of masks in settings where it is not possible, staying at home whenever possible, and being especially mindful of hygiene at all times, but especially when you must go out, are all still recommended practices.
Though playground structures, skate parks, and sport courts are closed in Nashua – NH’s Stay at Home Advisory and Nashua Public Health recommendations do still allow for walks in your neighborhood, or nearby parks. It’s a great time to get out for a walk and some sunshine along Nashua’s Heritage Rail Trail, at Mines Falls Park, or the Nashua Riverwalk! This is a great way to beat cabin fever, while still practicing social distancing.
Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from fellow explorers, and avoid direct contact, like handshakes and high fives with friends you might see out, when possible. For more on what social distancing is all about, check out this great article from The Atlantic – and for more information and resources, visit the Nashua Public Health website here.
Be well, and stay safe,
Paul Shea

Our photo of the week was shared by the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, and you may recognize some familiar faces! Area businesses and organizations teamed up remotely, to send a positive message: “Greater Nashua, We mss you and want to thank you for supporting local businesses and our community. Stay strong”
Our resiliency here in the community will depend a great deal on the extent to which each of us choose to Support Local when and how they can. Thank you to everyone keeping that in mind, and in practice – and to all of our fellow Chamber members for teaming up in this fun way to send that message!
Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.

Before the COVID-19 school closure, End 68 Hours of Hunger food bags provided 7 meals and 3 snacks for children each weekend. Currently, their bags provide up to 14 meals and 6 snacks for children to help fight hunger while the stay-at-home order is in place. Since the school shutdown started one month ago, they have provided 28,700 meals for children.
This would not be possible without community support. Every food donation dropped in their shed helps. Every penny donated goes to purchasing food for kids.
This week’s most needed items are: Crackers (Ritz, Saltines, or Graham) Instant Pancake Mix Squeezable Jelly Cans of Parmesan Cheese Canned Pasta – Ravioli, Beefaroni, etc.
Add these items to your shopping list, and drop them at their donation shed at 17 Airport Rd (at the back of the building) is open 24/7 for drop offs. THANK YOU!!

Small businesses is BIG here in NH. Weâre a state of do-ers and makers, with a drive to serve our neighbors. In fact, 93 percent of New Hampshireâs companies are small businesses! Make a commitment to support local when and how you can, so the businesses and friends who have been there for us to meet out needs in the good times will be here with us and standing strong as we enter a period of economic recovery.

Eat Local
Two Great Restaurants
Offering Delivery & Takeout
Fody’s Great American Tavern
“One of the greatest material comforts in life might be a meal cooked by someone else paired with a refreshing libation poured by another. A perfectly char-grilled burger and a crisp, cold beer; a creamy pasta dish and a glass of wine; buffalo wings and a martini (this is a judgement-free zone); add friends, warm and knowledgeable staff and good music, and youâd have had any given night at Fodyâs Great American Tavern.” Visit their website, and read more @ The Telegraph Here.
San Francisco Kitchen
“A Main Street staple for the past 25 years, San Francisco Kitchen has been meticulously serving up East-West fusion and sushi with a true love for their community. Fondly referred to as âSan Franâ by regulars, they bring a fresh and comforting West Coast vibe to even the most bitter-cold, snowy Nashua night.” Visit their website, and read more @ The Telegraph Here.
