Photo of the Week

Our photo of the week by Craig Michaud is from the spacious new showroom of Glorious Possibilities. Gloria and her staff have moved from the former Chandler Library building diagonally across from Southern NH Medical Center, to a prime spot at 100 Main Street, right in the center of Downtown!
You’ve absolutely got to stop by (Wed.–Sun. from 11 am) and see their beautiful selection of gifts and home decor, just in time for your holiday shopping and decorating!
See more photos of the shop here. Congrats on the move to the new location – we wish Glorious Possibilities great success in the heart of Downtown Nashua!

Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.

“Developing Self-Guided Explorations for All Ages” –
Creating Engaging Interpretive Experiences in an
Increasingly Digital World
2 pm Thursday, Nov. 12
Great American Downtown’s own Program Coordinator Jenn Annand has been tapped to be a panelist in a free zoom webinar tomorrow. Jenn will discuss our free DISTRX app for our downtown art tour – a perfect tool for the webinar topic“Developing Self-Guided Explorations for All Ages.”
Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area (whose grant made our art tour app a possibility!) and partners from across the region have teamed up to offer a series of free webinars leading up to the launch of our newly re-imagined Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History in May 2021.
Panelists will share expertise and insight into their recent efforts to develop engaging self-guided experiences for all ages.
Q-and-A period will follow the presentations.
Registration is required. Please register using the buttons below, even if you are unable to join us live. Recordings will be made available to registrants following the webinar.

HAPPY DIWALI! JOIN THE CANDLE LIGHTING

Celebrate Diwali candle lighting
5 pm Sunday, Nov. 15
City Hall Plaza
This weekend, Nashua’s Indian community will celebrate their Festival of Lights: Diwali. For the past five years, we have integrated symbols and customs of Diwali into Nashua’s Winter Holiday Stroll, most notably during the candle lighting at City Hall at the beginning of the event. We handed out hundreds of beautiful clay Diya candles for participants to hold, as we walked up Main Street together, to the City’s Christmas tree lighting.
Though we are not able to gather in large numbers this year and hold the Stroll, our Indian friends and neighbors will gather at City All this Sunday at 5 pm for a socially distanced Diya lighting to make the auspicious occasion. Diyas will be available for those who would like them.
Wishing all of our friends who celebrate a Happy Diwali, and prosperous New Year!
