Dear –FNAME–,
Here at Great American Downtown, we are hard at work planning for a great 2018! We’ve sent surveys along over the course of the year, to help the community help us in guiding our growth – as we work to offer more programs, and share the great programming of our many partners in cultural vibrancy.
As we finalize the schedule for 2018, I’d like to put one last call out for folks to provide feedback. Though our 2018 survey is closed, please feel free to reply to this email with any ideas you might have to make Downtown Nashua an even more vibrant place to live, work, and play in the year ahead!
I also want you to take a moment and save a few dates on your calendar! Returning to Downtown Nashua on Saturday February 10th, starting at noon, will be the Chocolate Stroll! This event is a great opportunity to kick that cabin fever and get out and about in Downtown Nashua for a romantic (or platonic, if preferred of course) stroll. Also, please save the date of Tuesday February 20th at 5:30pm – and plan to attend out annual meeting at City Hall. We will be covering all that we’ve accomplished together in 2017, and where we are headed with our Mission of Vibrancy as 2018 takes form. I hope to see you out for these two coming events, and look forward to sending along more information on what to expect in the weeks ahead!
Have a great weekend!
-Paul

The photo of the week was sent to us by Ken Skuse. Ken has captured many rich photos of our historic Downtown and various events. This one was shot from the Broad Street Parkway after this week’s snowfall. The temperate weather opened up the Nashua River, revealing Clocktower Place Apartments reflecting from the placid surface. What a beautiful capture!
Do you have some great pictures of our vibrant Downtown you’d like to show off? Post them to our Facebook page, or send them to us by email! We love to share images that capture the beauty and excitement of Downtown Nashua.
Without further ado, here is what’s going down and coming up in Downtown Nashua!

The founding managers are back!
From El Colima,
To all clients and friends:
We have been reading all your comments and listening directly your opinions one by one. Your insights are very important to us, and we want to make sure El Colima stands by its values and mission, as we bring our attention on raising the bar on your experience with us. That is the reason why the Founder Managers are BACK!
The story of El Colima reflects the quintessential American dream: having a vision and investing the long hours necessary to build a successful business. And that is how Alma and Enrique Moreno opened El Colima back in 2008 and now they are taking back absolutely control of the administration, starting today.
We have navigated these past months through difficult times but nonetheless, we own fully our story: a story of family and passion for our craft.
We would very much love to see you all soon! Visit us at El Colima to experience a warm atmosphere and a family-style service â keep us in mind in your next dining out!

Pokemon GO! Community Day
in Downtown Nashua!
|
|
|
|
|
SATURDAY, JANUARY 20
2pm-5pm
Niantic is still cracking away at its AR-hit game Pokémon GO with a new series of events called Community Day. These events will be scheduled once a month around the world and aim to bring Trainers, or Pokémon GO players, together with special perks.
Here is a message from Niantic about what trainers can expect:
“Once a month, weâll host a Pokémon GO Community Day event starring a special Pokémon, which will appear frequently around the world for just a few hours. When caught during the event, this special Pokémon will know an exclusive move. Other bonuses will be in effect during the event, such as increased XP or Stardust, and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.”
They go on to say…
“Mark your calendars, Trainers. The first Pokémon GO Community Day will take place on January 20, 2018, and it features Pikachu! Explore your local parks with family and friends to catch Pikachu that know the exclusive event move Surf. While youâre out exploring your local parks and making new friends, youâll also earn double XP during event hours.”
We’ve had a lot of fun with gamers here in Downtown Nashua, and will encourage folks to get out and play as things develop with Community Day events over the course of the year! For past events, we have set up battery packs and seating at central spots for gamers, and though we won’t be doing this during the cooler months of the year, stay tuned as things warm up this spring!
There is no central location for January’s event, but we hope to see you out and about catching some of the new generation three Pokemon, enjoying the perks of the day, and having lots of fun!
