Dear –FNAME–,

This afternoon, I want to take a moment to reflect with you on the successes of our Downtown Business Community, particularly a flurry of new businesses that have made strides in the last six months.

We have been so excited to see that in recent months, all but one tiny storefront along East and West Pearl have been filled (excluding Alec’s, which is on hold for the proposed Performing Arts Center). Made Men Barbershop & Lounge and Aerial Moon are two of the latest additions.

Jo Louise Beauty is on slate to open soon at the corner of Temple and Main. O’Brien’s Sports Bar is undergoing an extensive renovation, along with the addition of Odd Fellows Brewing Co. Fuego Bar & Grill (click for coupons) recently opened on that block as well, with a complete renovation where Vietnam Noodle House used to be.

A new Nashua Gauchos Churrascaria Brazilian Steakhouse is coming soon, next to the Elm Street Garage, which will also double as the delicious Suzette’s Creperie.  Graffiti Paintbar has moved Downtown to 143 Main this past Summer. WineNot Boutique completed a significant expansion last fall. Camaraderie Boutique opened last spring. Our friends at Millyard Brewery have just hosted a soft opening of their new considerably expanded tasting room!

The City Moose Café & Catering company is moving to Downtown Nashua from Derry, to 30 Temple Street. Bobola’s Family Restaurant is set to open on Simon Street in early 2018. Rambling House and Talespinner Brewing Company are on slate to open at the 57 Factory Street location. A combo plant/gift/coffee shop has begun to take shape at 100 Main Street, stay tuned for more on this in the coming months!

To make a long story short: businesses are showing their confidence in our Downtown as a great place to expand or get their start!

Housing and lodging starts are well underway too, with the most recent flurry of activity taking place on Marshall Street at the corner of East Hollis, where the groundwork is being laid for over 140 units of workforce housing. Over 180 new apartments are opening at the Lofts 34 project that Brady Sullivan Properties LLC is working on. There is a bid in to the city for a hotel on school street. Another 152 units of market rate apartments are going up on Bridge Street as part of the Residences at Riverfront Landing project.

Downtown Nashua is on a clear upward trajectory, and with the brisk wind of residential development and the strong Southern NH economy at our back, we are poised for these and many other success stories to unfold over the next 2-3 years. You can read more about our recipe for success in NH Business Review, who share that “energy, collaboration and commitment fuel Downtown Nashua’s revival.”

We’re looking forward to sharing more on these and other success stories at our upcoming public meeting. I hope you have saved the date, and will be able to join us for our Annual Public Meeting on February 20th at 5:30pm at Nashua City Hall! Each year, we gather to share what we’ve accomplished together, and how we will set out to build on the successes of our community in the year head! I hope to see you there!

Have a great week!

-Paul

“PITHIER THAN PYTHON. IRRESISTIBLE.” New York Times
“STUPENDOUS, ANCHORLESS JOY!” The Times of London
“ROLLICKING, FAST-MOVING AND HILARIOUS!” The Guardian
“IF YOU LIKE SHAKESPEARE, YOU’LL LOVE THIS SHOW. IF YOU HATE SHAKESPEARE YOU’LL LOVE THIS SHOW!” The Today Show
All 37 Plays in 97 Minutes! An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged was London’s longest-running comedy having clocked a very palpable nine years in London’s West End at the Criterion Theatre. Join this small band of madcap merry-makers as they weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories and tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter.
Warning: This show is a high-speed roller-coaster type condensation of all of Shakespeare’s plays, and is not recommended for people with heart ailments, bladder problems, inner-ear disorders, outer-ear disorders, Shakespearean scholars with degrees in Elizabethan history, and/or people who do not like to laugh out loud repeatedly for whatever weird reason.

Five years after their groundbreaking Revolution, House of Waters now returns with its eponymous follow-up. Featuring Max ZT on hammered dulcimer, Moto Fukushima on six-string bass, and newly added percussionist Argentinian-born Ignacio Rivas-Bixio rounds out the touring trio. The album also features virtuosic cellist Dave Eggar, flautist Sam Sadigursky and the singer Priya Darshini.
