Dear –FNAME–,

With incoming weather, it is possible that the City of Nashua may declare a snow emergency for tomorrow, Thursday January 3rd. For information on what this means with regard to parking and municipal services – check out the City of Nashua’s Winter Weather Bulletin, and stay tuned to the NashuaNH.Gov homepage for the most up to day snow emergency information. The Nashua Superintendant of Schools has already announced that schools will be closed on Thursday as well. Stay safe, and stay warm!

Thank you to the hundreds of Nashuans who voted in support of our community to receive the Levitt AMP Your City Grant! It was really inspiring to have so many of you rally around  bringing more outdoor live music events to Nashua in 2018!

I am sorry to share that though we made it into the top 25 – we learned this week that Nashua was not selected among the 15 final recipients. Thank you all for your dedication! We are hopeful that we will have success in next year’s grant cycle. Do you know of any grants that would be a great fit for our programming? Send them my way!

The show must go on! We are looking forward to bringing more great music programming to Nashua in 2018. Please consider making a donation by clicking here to support our 2018 concert series!

Happy New Year!

-Paul

FREE Until Help Arrives Workshop
@ Nashua City Hall!

THURSDAY, JANUARY 25
6-9pm
This FREE Until Help Arrives course is January 25th. The training covers a number of key areas including how citizens can effectively communicate with 9-1-1 operators, stay safe in a dangerous situation, stop life-threatening bleeding, position the injured, and provide emotional support. With these basic skills, citizens can play a part in being a part of the solution during an emergency. While emergency services are right around the corner in Nashua, this program teaches the important actions that can be taken prior to professionals arriving. Please note that due to the graphic nature of the course, participants should be at least 13 years of age.

WANT TO LEARN HOW TO WORK WITH THE LOCAL MEDIA?
Artists and arts organizations in the Nashua area are invited to participate in a FREE “Working with the Media” workshop on Thursday, January 25, beginning at 5:45 pm with a light supper and networking.
At 6:15 pm representatives from the Nashua Telegraph, Hippo Press, the Union Leader and freelancer Sheryl Rich-Kern will outline what they look for in stories, how and when to contact them (and when not to), what type of background information they find useful, what they want to see (and not see) in a press release, and the types of photos they may use.
The workshop is located in the new Chandler wing of the Nashua Public Library. Plenty of parking is available in the lots off of Church Street. This opportunity to learn how to expand coverage of your work in the local media is hosted by the Nashua Arts Commission as part of its workshop series.
Registration is required.
