Great American Downtown is happy to announce several events coming up in the months ahead. Let’s get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and get together again!

JUNE 20: NASHUA FARMERS MARKET OPENS

Beginning on Father’s Day, join us from 10 am–2 pm every Sunday at City Hall Plaza, 229 Main Street. Free parking at the adjacent Elm Street Garage.

Our farmers and vendors are set up around the Nashua City Hall building – in the front plaza, along the shady rail trail on the side of the building, and in the back parking lot. Stroll through our local purveyors of fresh produce, meats, seafood, artists, honey, and much more! Thank you to our sponsors, Ace Hardware, Eversource Energy, Solution Health Southern, and Granite State Credit Union!

We’re happy to have back many of our regular vendors, and very excited to welcome several new vendors this year. More than two dozen local farmers and artisans are ready to share their bounty with you!

We are also very pleased to let you know we accept SNAP/EBT payment at our Sunday market. And thanks to Granite State Market Match, your money goes even farther!

Granite State Market Match will double your money when you use your SNAP/EBT to purchase fruits, vegetables, herbs, seeds or seedlings. Just stop by the Great American Downtown table before you shop, and grab your tokens!

Nashua Farmers Market season runs through mid-October. Like and Follow our market page on Facebook. See the market map, our list of vendors, and more information by clicking HERE.

SUMMERTIME: DANCIN’ IN THE PARK

Now that more of us can get together, the City of Nashua is excited to announce the return of its Dancin’ in the Park event series. Live music, dance lessons, ice cream, and other surprises have been part of these events in the past; what will this summer’s events hold? Let’s find out!

The slated music styles for the three shows are:

July 30: Latin night

Aug. 20: Swing night

Oct. 16: Oompah in the Park

July and August events will be held from 7–10 pm, at Renaissance Park on Water Street, in Downtown Nashua. Our August 20th event will coincide with the Nashua River Light Parade. Our October 16th event will be taking place in the mid afternoon, incoordination with Rotary’s Ducktoberfest event – which is sure to be a fun filled Day all throughout the Downtown.

We’ll share more information closer to these events, on our Great American Downtown page on Facebook.

DOWNTOWN LIVING IS IN FULL SWING!

Main Street is the place to be now! Don’t miss out on these great reasons to go downtown:

Saturday Sidewalk Sessions

Great American Downtown has asked some of our great local musicians to add to the ambiance on Main Street, by playing in three different locations up and down the street: Bicentennial Park (near the Main Street bridge), near Pompanoosuc Mills, and in front of City Hall. This program is supporter in part by NHGives donations, the City of Nashua Downtown Improvement Committee, and charitable gaming revenue thanks to our partners at Boston Billiards and Casino!

Outdoor dining

Our talented local artists with Positive Street Art teamed up with Lowell’s Beyond Walls to decorate the barriers on Main Street, which provide diners with the option to again enjoy outdoor seating during warm weather. Our restaurants and bars overwhelmingly agreed it was a success last year, and are happy to welcome you back to dine with them again this year.

Walking Art Tour with free app

We are delighted to offer you a free downloadable app for your smartphone, that provides you with a blueprint for strolling around downtown and learning about our public art. The history and facts about dozens of murals and sculptures are explained with a voiceover, as well as written info and links to explore later. It’s all self-guided, outdoors and great for the whole family! Available in Spanish! Learn more and download HERE!

New Scooter program

The City is partnering with shared electric scooter company, Bird Rides, to bring electric scooters back to Nashua beginning next week. Similar to the VeoRide scooters that were here in 2019, Bird scooters will be available through a smartphone app which allows riders pay to use the scooter per minute. There will be 125 scooters available for rent from 5 am–midnight. The scooters have a maximum speed of 15 mph and riders are required to be 18 years of age or older to access them. Learn more about Bird HERE; download the app HERE.
