Money.com has just announced their 2019 Best Places to Live – and Nashua has made the list again this year. Nashua, NH is no stranger to Money’s Top 100 Places to live list, having been listed as the #1 place to live in the United States in the very first year, 1987, and again in 1997.  We’re very proud to have also made the Top 100 designation in three out of the last four years, including again in 2019!

In December 2018, Money named Nashua the #1 place to live here in NH, citing feedback from the community in support of the designation. “Residents enjoy the perks of being an hour’s drive from the cultural and educational hub of Boston, but arrive home to a charming town with no sales tax and a rich history,” Money Magazine wrote. “In the 1800s, Nashua had a thriving textile economy, and the old mill buildings on Main Street, now converted into apartments, studios, and workspaces, still stand in an up-and-coming downtown area.”

Nashua is often recognized for a number of reasons by a variety of publications and organizations. Can you blame them? In addition to our perennial appearance on Money’s top 100 Places to Live list, Nashua has also shared the spotlight with the nation’s lauded cities and towns as Wallet Hub’s Safest City in America in 2017, Safewise’s Top 50 Cities to Raise a Child 2019, VacationIdea.com’s Best Places to Visit in NH, and is the recipient of the 2017 NH Governor’s Arts Award for Creative Community.

When we ask residents and visitors to share their favorite things about Nashua are, they list a wide variety of things that make the city a great place to live, work play and raise a family. We often hear that the burgeoning Downtown, great neighbors, friendly small businesses, Mine Falls Park, a fine selection of micro & nano breweries, Nashua’s Winter Holiday Stroll, the Nashua Farmers Market and a wide variety of family friendly programs put on by the Nashua Public Library and Nashua Parks & Recreation are among the city’s attributes that people appreciate most. Answers also reflect Nashua’s incredible arts and culture scene, including our wealth of public art, opportunities to take in theatre, symphony, music & arts festivals throughout the year, the Nashua Street Pianos, and a vibrant live music scene. In addition to all of the great local things to do and see, residents also enjoy the convenience of being within 1-2 hours of the seacoast, mountain & lakes region, and Boston – living in the comfort of a small connected community, but close enough to take in all that the iconic New England city has to offer.
