Deschenes Oval

Monument and park space at top of Main Street.

A little park at the top of Main Street (often referred to as Library Hill), named for Amedee Deschenes, who was cited for bravery during World War I. The park is also a memorial to Civil War heroes of New Hampshire, each tree bearing a bronze plaque inscribed with the name of one of them. This park now holds memorials to soldiers from all wars the US has been involved in.
