City Arts Nashua has been busy behind the scenes planning “ArtWeek Nashua,” a virtual program that will celebrate two of its signature annual events – the Meri Goyette Arts Awards and the 16th annual ArtWalk, combined into a wonderful week of programming!

If we have all learned anything in 2020, it is to think outside of the box. Through the creation of this new virtual ArtWeek Nashua event featuring the ArtWalk and lots of additional arts-related programming, City Arts Nashua is helping our creative community reach an even bigger audience. Artists will have the opportunity to continue to share this programming after the initial airing, to generate a new audience across the globe.

The ArtWeek plan for artists and musicians

ArtWeek Nashua kicks off with virtual Artwalk programming on Saturday, October 17, exploring the art scene in Nashua and meeting local artists and performers in their creative environments. Artists can decide what they want to highlight in their video: give a tour of their studio, show their artistic process, discuss a piece of art in depth. The footage that airs for these segments will be professionally pre-filmed with the artists and performers.

ArtWeek Nashua will conclude on Sunday, October 25 with the broadcast of our Meri Goyette Arts Awards, celebrating the three businesses and individuals who, while not necessarily artists themselves, have contributed significantly to the arts in Nashua this year or over a long period of time.

Access Nashua Community Television will help create and broadcast this programming.

Kids/Teens/Family Performances

KidsWalk 2020 will also be part of the ArtsWeek Nashua virtual programming. City Arts Nashua is  looking for talented up-and-coming artists and performers of all ages, to showcase their talents in a short video or photo submission.

Did the pandemic prevent your child from their dance recital or theater debut? Did your child blossom with creativity during this crazy time? City Arts Nashua wants to celebrate their accomplishments and creativity! Submit to: kidswalk@cityartsnashua.org by 11:59 p.m. Fri., September 25. Submissions received after that time will be processed on a first-come, first served basis.

Kids/Family Crafts

Keeping up with the KidsWalk tradition, CAN will be creating some fun crafts with your kids – virtually! Stay tuned for more information!
