The Last Five Years

Downtown Nashua Presents

The Last Five Years

Great American Downtown is proud to bring the award-winning musical The Last Five Years right to Downtown Nashua. For years, our organization has strived to provide great arts programming to Main Street, and this production is no exception. All profits from The Last Five Years will go toward arts in our community.

The Last Five Years was written by Jason Robert Brown and first premiered in 2001, since it has evolved into numerous productions in the States and internationally.  The Last Five years has been translated into a handful of languages and was named one of TIME Magazine’s ten best shows of 2001.

The show is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their engagement in the middle of the show.
